Survivor Data Center

The WTC Environmental Health Center (EHC) Survivor Data Center (SDC) collects, manages, and analyzes data for the WTC Health Program.  The SDC is responsible for preparing and disseminating reports, presentations, and research publications on behalf of the WTC EHC.  The SDC is one of several data centers that exist within the WTC Health Program, but is the only data center dedicated to Survivors.

Member Demographics

Member enrolled in the WTC EHC share similar demographic characteristics with New York City.  The population, residing in all five boroughs, is racially and ethnically diverse and 50% female. Below, some tables presenting characteristics of the Survivor cohort as of December 31, 2023.

Make a Data Request

Data are available to researchers to study the impact of the World Trade Center disaster on community members.  Research protocols must be approved by the requestor’s IRB and the WTC EHC Research Oversight Committee.  Please review the requirements carefully before making a request.
