Kayla Schiller, RD
Dietitian
Kayla completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Science at Cornell University, and both her dietetic internship and Master’s degree in Nutrition at CUNY Brooklyn College. Her thesis during that time focused on understanding the nutritional environments of Hispanic-Caribbean restaurants in NYC.
Kayla started her nutrition career in acute and sub-acute facilities before finding a specialized purpose in bariatric nutrition therapy. Her favorite part about treating this population is supporting patient autonomy when it comes to food choices and helping patients become more solution-oriented when it comes to facing challenges related to weight management. Kayla believes that there’s no such thing as “good” or “bad” foods and that variety is the spice of life (at least when it comes to foods).
A registered yoga teacher, Kayla enjoys deepening her asana and meditation practices, sometimes even teaching her own colleagues. She enjoys reading, baking, Pilates, playing tennis, exploring the city by foot and bike, and spending time with her dog, Serena.
