NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi | North Central Bronx CEO Christopher Mastromano announced today that the long-awaited renovated Adult Mental Health Outpatient Treatment Practice was open to the public. The large-scale $8.8 million capital project, where construction started in September of 2020, concluded over the summer. The renovation marks the first step of integrating behavior health with Jacobi’s primary care services. Approximately 10,000 patients receive their healthcare at Jacobi’s Adult Mental Health Outpatient Treatment Practice each year. If you are in need of behavioral healthcare, please call us at (718) 918-5000.
The Outpatient Practice is located on the 10th floor of Building 1 on the Jacobi campus and will be open 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday while being open an extra hour until 6pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The practice will continue to provide individual and group therapy, pharmacotherapy, telehealth options with linkages in care to Social Work, Psychiatric Emergency Program, Partial Hospitalization Program, Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Center, Senior Citizen Centers, Meals on Wheels, Visiting Nurse Services, and medical clinics if patients require additional care.
“The new Adult Mental Health Outpatient Treatment Practice at Jacobi represents a tremendous investment in modern behavioral healthcare,” said Mr. Mastromano. “The investment will now be obvious to all of our patients as they are treated and cared for in a total state of the art facility.”
“We could not have created this new space without the support of our Executive Office, Engineers and Architects, and all of our staff who were involved in the planning and design. Our goal is to expand access to quality outpatient mental health treatment to our community her in the Bronx.” said Dr. Maryann Popiel.
