City & State New York recognizes Matthew Levy, CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Sea View, for his outstanding leadership, forward-thinking approach, and significant contributions to improving healthcare and strengthening community wellbeing throughout Staten Island. The inaugural “2025 Staten Island Trailblazers” list, by City & State New York and covering the borough of Staten Island (Richmond County), recognizes local leaders whose work is driving meaningful change across the borough’s civic, business, nonprofit, and healthcare sectors. The 2025 edition spotlights those who combine professional achievement with a commitment to community impact.
Matthew Levy, LNHA, MHA, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of NYC Health + Hospitals/Sea View, Staten Island’s award-winning rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing facility. With more than two decades of leadership in post-acute and long-term care operations, Levy has guided Sea View to become one of the nation’s top-rated facilities, consistently earning 5-Star ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and securing placement on both Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes lists. Under his leadership, Sea View has strengthened its role as home to New York City’s specialized Traumatic Brain Injury Unit and advanced its pioneering work in caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other complex neurological conditions. Levy has also been a driving force behind the institution’s commitment to equity and inclusion, leading Sea View to earn recognition as an LGBTQ+ Long-Term Care Equality Leader.
Before becoming CEO, Levy served as Chief Operating Officer at Progressive Care Solutions, a New York–based managed services organization supporting a major post-acute physician practice. His earlier career includes senior administrative roles at Cliffside Rehabilitation, RHCC, and other health facilities, where he built a reputation for operational excellence and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. A dedicated advocate for healthcare professionals—especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic—he champions a culture grounded in collaboration, compassion, and high-quality service. Levy holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Hofstra University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Long Island University, and is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the State of New York.
