Calendar Listing for HHC’s Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

The New York City Health and Hospital Corporation (HHC) will hold its annual mammogram campaign in May to educate women and their loved ones about the importance of mammograms and preventive screenings for breast cancer. As part of this year’s “I Dedicate” campaign, HHC and its member facilities will ask patients and staff to dedicate their mammograms to a family member or loved one.
The public hospitals corporation has traditionally targeted May and Mother’s Day to conduct its annual breast cancer awareness effort. HHC doctors perform more than 100,000 mammograms annually and actively encourage women over 40 to get regular mammograms regardless of their ability to pay. New Yorkers can call 311 or visit www.nyc.gov/hhc to find a nearby HHC public hospital or health center and to learn more about preventing breast cancer.
HHC hospitals and health centers will host breast cancer screening and informational events throughout the month of May. We ask that you include these events in your listings:
