The City’s public health system’s first baby of 2024 was welcomed at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. The baby boy was born at midnight, weighing 7 lbs. 12.5 oz. and measuring 21 in. The baby boy was born to mom and Rafael Abitbul. The baby boy is the Flatbush couple’s first child. This is the fifth first baby of the New Year in a row for the hospital.
The father of the baby was born at the same hospital, formerly named NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, 23 years ago. The same doctor who delivered him delivered his new son.
