Notice of Nondiscrimination for Patient-Related Services

NYC Health + Hospitals complies with all applicable federal, state and local civil rights laws and does not discriminate (does not exclude or treat people differently) on the basis of race, color, immigration status, national origin (including limited English proficiency and primary language), age, military service, pregnancy, religion, marital or partnership status, disability, gender identity, or sex (includes but not limited to sex characteristics, including intersex traits, sexual orientation, sex stereotypes, and pregnancy or related conditions) in connection to patient-related services.

NYC Health + Hospitals:

• Provides free reasonable modifications, including auxiliary aids and services, to people with disabilities to communicate effectively, such as:
• Qualified sign language interpreters
• Written information in other formats (braille, large print, audio, accessible electronic formats)

• Provides free language assistance services to people whose primary language is not English, such as:
• Qualified interpreters
• Information written in other languages, both electronically and in hard copy

If you believe that NYC Health + Hospitals failed to provide these services or discriminated in another way on the basis of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency and primary language), age, disability, gender identity or sex (includes but not limited to sex characteristics, including intersex traits, sexual orientation, sex stereotypes, and pregnancy or related conditions), you can file a grievance with the Section 1557 Coordinator at the facility where the incident occurred.
