PGY1 Year
This year is dedicated to direct patient care under the guidance of PGY2, PGY3, Chief Residents and Attending Physicians. Heavy emphasis is placed on the diagnosis and management of patients with acute medical conditions.
PGY1 residents will see ambulatory patients regularly in their continuity clinics, have opportunities to pick from our extensive list of elective options. PGY1s also rotate through subspecialties such as Neurology, Allergy Immunology, Endocrinology, among many others, in addition to inpatient subspecialty options.
All three levels of training include rotations in intensive care unit settings as well as primary care.
PGY2 Year
PGY2 year is a year where residents have the opportunity to explore and further their interests. The goal of this year is for the residents to plan their career paths with the help of their superiors’ guidance and transition to the phase of independent clinical thinking under supervision while being granted more autonomy.
Subspecialty rotations include Nephrology, Hematology-Oncology, Gastrointestinal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine.
PGY3 Year
The Final year of residency is spent fine tuning learnt skills and preparation for independent practice.
The PGY3 resident will rotate through several subspecialities, including rotations such as the Senior Medical Resident rotation (SMR), Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Geriatrics and more.
