Among NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx’s newest renovations are a self-contained Ambulatory Surgery Suite, an inpatient Geriatric Medicine Unit, an inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, acquisition of one of the largest and quietest MRI units on the market today and acquisition of a new digital mammography unit.
Services have been expanded to offer a host of medical programs tailored to the needs of geriatric patients, a successful Hospitalist program and the Partial Hospitalization program (an alternative approach to services for the mentally ill which provides daily therapeutic intervention while allowing patients to live at home.) NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx’s Sexual Assault Response Team delivers prompt, state-of-the-art forensic and counseling services to sexual assault victims. NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx was the first NYC hospital to receive a SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) Center of Excellence designation by the NYS Department of Health.
