Career Day & Hospital Youth Academy
NYC Health + Hospitals is partnering with Mentoring in Medicine, a 501(c)3 health and science youth development program founded in 2007 headquartered in the Bronx, NY with local, regional and national year round activities delivered live or virtually.
Mentoring in Medicine targets students who are underrepresented in medicine (URiM) primarily disadvantaged, Black, Hispanic. They have already helped 58,000 students, parents and educators and engaged 1,500 biomedical volunteers.
NYC Health + Hospitals and Mentoring in Medicine are hoping to launch health and science career fairs as well as a Saturday program for middle and high school students in coordination with one or more NYC Health + Hospitals facilities. The Saturday program will offer curriculum in organ systems, diseases, biomedical careers, data science, and public health.
