NYC Health + Hospitals/McKinney opened its doors in 1997. Today, it provides rehabilitation therapy and skilled nursing services in a pristine, tranquil setting. The facility was named in honor of Dr. Susan Smith McKinney Steward, the first African-American female doctor in New York State and the third in the nation. Dr. McKinney’s strength, resolve, courage, dedication, and her belief in dignity is the core of our mission.
