Community Advisory Boards (CABs) are the formal and direct links between each NYC Health + Hospitals facility and its patients and local advocates. The CAB members contribute to planning, program development, and service delivery. Members also provide invaluable advocacy and advice from the local community perspective.

Debera D. Tyndall

Debera D. Tyndall brings over 36 years of dedicated service to NYC Health + Hospitals, including leadership roles at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, Woodhull, and Kings County hospitals. At NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, she served as Coordinating Manager for Marketing & Communications, and as the Practice Manager for Ambulatory Care. During that time, she also acted as liaison to the hospital’s Community Advisory Board (CAB) where she was a passionate advocate for patients, staff, and the broader community.
Originally from Georgetown, Guyana, Debera’s Caribbean heritage continues to shape her devotion to family, service, and community. A strong union leader, Debera is a former Shop Steward for CWA 1180 and now continues her advocacy as Vice President of its Retiree Division Board. Her commitment to service and community engagement extends to leadership roles with the Brooklyn Farragut Lions Club and Christian Holiness Ministries.
Debera holds an MBA in Global Management, a Master’s in Psychology, and a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources, along with doctoral coursework in Organizational Leadership & Development. She currently serves as Chairperson of the NYC Health + Hospitals/McKinney Community Advisory Board and remains an active member of NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County CAB.
