Matthew Siegler
Senior Vice PresidentManaged Care and Patient Growth
As the Senior Vice President for Managed Care and Patient Growth and the CEO of the HHC Accountable Care Organization, Mr. Siegler oversees the system’s budget with a focus on revenue generating initiatives and value based care. He also leads a variety of operational areas for the health system including real estate, housing, and transportation and serves as the executive sponsor for facilities development, capital planning, and home and community based care. Since joining 2018, Mr. Siegler has led the health system’s financial turnaround, eliminating a $1.8b structural deficit, growing patient care revenue by over $2b annually, while deepening the system’s commitment to value based care and addressing the health related social needs of its patients. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Siegler helped lead capacity expansion and level loading efforts that moved over 2,500 patients between the system’s facilities and tripled the system’s ICU capacity.
Before joining NYC Health + Hospitals, Matt worked in strategy and operational roles at Kaiser Permanente, where he focused on implementation of the Affordable Care Act in the individual market and large group growth strategies. He began his career in Washington DC, working on the White House Domestic Policy Council, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the staff of Congressman Henry Waxman. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School, Johns Hopkins University, and Harvard College. He serves on the Boards of Directors for Metroplus Health Plan, the Primary Care Development Corporation and HealthIx.
