Joel Eisdorfer is a community leader and advisor with decades of experience in public service and community engagement. He has built a reputation as a bridge-builder between New York City’s diverse communities, the private sector, and government.
Joel’s career in public service began with nearly 20 years on Brooklyn’s Community Board 12 and as a board member of the Boro Park Jewish Community Council. He went on to serve as a community liaison at the New York State Senate and later as a member of the senior staff at Brooklyn Borough Hall. In 2022, Joel received the honor of being appointed as a senior advisor to New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
In this senior role, Joel maintained close relationships with New York City’s diverse faith-based communities, providing the Mayor with guidance on their needs and ensuring the effective delivery of City services. In early 2023, he was appointed as Chair of the Mayor’s Jewish Advisory Council, where he led engagement with Jewish communities across the City and fostered collaboration across faith and cultural lines.
Beyond his government service, Joel’s network and influence span the political, business, real estate, healthcare, and advocacy sectors. His commitment to improving the lives of everyday New Yorkers is reflected in his long-standing record of volunteering on numerous boards and committees across the City. A lifelong New Yorker, Joel lives in Brooklyn with his wife and their five children.
