Community Advisory Board

With over 30 years of nursing experience, Lorna Chin is no stranger to NYC Health + Hospitals. She proudly began her career at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County School of Nursing, specializing in Maternal-Child Health, and retired from NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue as the Associate Executive Director of Nursing. There, she oversaw Maternal-Child services, the Emergency Department, Rehabilitation Services, and Physical Therapy.

Lorna’s career spans academia and acute care in both public and private sectors. She brings a wealth of expertise as a change agent, mentor, and educator — dedicated to improving health outcomes and promoting best practices in the communities she serves.

Encouraged by colleagues and friends, she joined the Community Advisory Board (CAB) to strengthen hospital-community relationships. Her deep understanding of regulatory frameworks is a valuable asset and her personal connection to the health system sustains her leadership.

Lorna and her CAB have led impactful engagement efforts, like Behavioral Health fairs and senior spa days, while also creating pathways for direct community feedback. She remains passionate about fostering strategic partnerships with others in the health system and in the community to deliver culturally responsive, effective care.
