Community Advisory Board

NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi has an active Community Advisory Board (CAB) of dedicated community volunteers who reach out to get the views of the community and represent them in the hospital’s decision-making process. They also inform the community about the goals and objectives of the hospital and its health centers.

The CAB office can be reached by calling 646-816-5180, or by mail at:

Charmaine Graham

Charmaine Graham strongly believes that real change starts when community voices are not only heard, but respected and valued in decision-making. She joined the CAB because she wanted to ensure that individuals who are directly impacted by health and social challenges had a seat at the table. For her, this work has always been about collaboration and making sure solutions are created with the community, not just for it, and ensuring that programs and policies truly reflect the needs of the people they aim to serve.

Throughout Charmaine’s career and community involvement, her most meaningful accomplishments have been creating and leading spaces where young people and residents feel empowered to speak their truth. Through the organizations that she has worked, volunteered, or partnered with, she has witnessed the power of individuals stepping into leadership, finding their voice, and knowing that they are part of the solution. That type of empowerment creates a ripple effect that stretches far beyond any single program or initiative.
