Susan Amos

Chief Nursing Officer

Ms. Amos serves as Chief Nursing Officer at Gotham Health, where she is responsible for overseeing professional nursing practices across Gotham Health. In her role, she works closely with the system-wide Health + Hospital Nursing Leadership team to advance high-quality care, ensuring a strong focus on safety, clinical standards, and nursing excellence. Ms. Amos facilitates the professional growth of nurses along a clinical ladder path, providing mentoring opportunities and fostering a supportive environment that encourages professional certifications and advanced degrees. Her leadership is instrumental in preparing our nursing team to meet the evolving challenges in healthcare.

Prior to joining Gotham health, Ms. Amos served as Operations Director for Business Integration and Practice Transformation at Optum Medical Care. Ms. Amos led post-acquisition integration workstreams, developed a structured Practice Integration Methodology, and managed project phases to enhance efficiency, improve patient care processes and maximize revenue opportunities.

Ms. Amos has also served as Vice President of Operations for Nursing and Women’s Health at Hudson River HealthCare/SunRiver Health. In this role, Ms. Amos was responsible for the oversight and management of clinical operations across a network of Federally Qualified Health Centers. She maintained multiple accreditations and regulatory compliance while spearheading successful LEAN projects to improve care delivery and patient satisfaction.

Other roles include Associate Chief Nursing Officer and Assistant Vice President for Maternal Child Health at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, from 2009 to 2015. During this time, Ms. Amos oversaw all operational functions of inpatient services and a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic, managing a budget exceeding $30 million while maintaining favorable performance. She developed training programs for diverse leadership teams and led initiatives to enhance HCAHPS/Patient Experience, achieving the 90th percentile. Over the course of her career, Ms. Amos has also served as an adjunct instructor, lecturer and clinical preceptor in numerous nursing and advanced practice programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels preparing clinicians for practice.

Susan Amos graduated from Georgetown University, Washington, DC, earning her Master of Science in Nursing. She completed a certificate program at the Cornell University Academy of HealthCare Leadership Advancement, Ithaca, NY. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.
