Dr. Ferris is a highly regarded internal medicine physician and infectious diseases specialist, with a wealth of experience in providing primary care for patients with HIV/AIDS. In this role, Dr. Ferris will oversee the medical aspects of Gotham Health in regards to maintaining regulatory compliance. Dr. Ferris is responsible for leading medical staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, implementing clinical policies, and fostering collaborations to enhance healthcare outcomes.
Prior to his role at Gotham Health, Dr. Ferris was the Medical Director of Ambulatory Care and Population Health, as well as the Chief Medical Officer of BronxCare’s Federally Qualified Health Center. At BronxCare, Dr. Ferris provided clinical leadership for 28 outpatient practices, led the quality improvement program, and was responsible for overseeing a team of data analysts supporting the ambulatory care network with data and informatics.
Prior to this position, Dr. Ferris was the Associate Medical Director at the Morningside Clinic at St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. After the merger with Mount Sinai, he was promoted to Medical Director and Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. In this role, he spearheaded the quality improvement program for HIV services across six clinics and four hospitals within the Mount Sinai Health System.
Dr. Ferris is a graduate of the NYU School of Medicine, and subsequently completed his residency and fellowship training at Columbia University Medical Center. During his fellowship, he earned an MS degree in epidemiology from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, focusing on adherence to antiretroviral therapy in Durban, South Africa.
