What is the CAB’s mission?

To forge an essential partnership with patients, hospital staff, and community organizations. These partnerships will enable NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue to provide the best health care available for the physical, mental, and social well-being of the people it serves. Karen Moore joined the NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue Community Advisory Board (CAB) after witnessing the excellent care her husband received there — an experience that sparked her desire to give back and support the hospital’s mission.

As a CAB member, Karen has helped organize community and legislative outreach programs to increase the visibility of Bellevue to the community. As Chair, she will continue to promote health outreach, access, and support for those in need.

For Karen, CAB service is a way to uphold the values of compassion and justice in healthcare by ensuring that institutions like NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue have the community support and partnerships they need to care for others.
