Chief Implementation Officer and Associate Executive Director of Ambulatory Care
Amy Harris is an Associate Executive Director for Ambulatory Care Services at New York City Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. She started her career as a clinical fellow in Audiology at Coler-Goldwater Memorial Hospital and worked as an audiologist for six years. Ms. Harris was awarded the New York City Mayoral Graduate scholarship and received her Master’s degree at New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service. She began her administrative career in Ambulatory Care Services at Elmhurst in 2000 and has a history of success in performance improvement and operations management. In 2011, she assumed an executive leadership position at NYC H+H/Gouverneur before returning to Elmhurst a few years later. In 2017, she proudly completed a fellowship program at America’s Essential Hospitals, Washington, D.C.
Ms. Harris currently provides administrative and operational oversight for Ambulatory Care Services with nearly 500,000 patient visits per year and continues to serve as a site expert in ambulatory care access and transformation. Under her leadership, for the fifth time, Elmhurst has been re-designated as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. Ms. Harris has been a champion for healthcare access and population health outreach in underserved populations. She is the mother of two teenagers, Keira and Kenneth. She and her husband, Dave, enjoy traveling, snorkeling and jazz music.
